Podium Wheels FAQS

Complete Corvette Wheel Packages and Options

What staggered setup configurations work best for my Corvette?

Depending on your use case, you could make a case for either a staggered or squared setup on your C5 or C6 Corvette. There is no right or wrong answer here; however, we have done our homework specifically for those wanting to throw these cars sideways.
  • 18×8.5″ +35: This size will be dedicated to steer wheels on the front of your Corvette. We know this size fits over all OEM brake options for the C5 and C6s and fits well with FDF and Wisefab angle kits. The backspacing that Wisefab recommends is reflected in this wheel’s purpose as the perfect wheel for steering. Fitment will need to be dialed in with spacers, depending on suspension setup and other factors.

  • 18×9″ +15: This size was also dedicated to being a steer tire as well, but catered towards those wanting a more aggressive fitment with their angle kits. Many of the cars with FDF and Wisefab angle kits run this size with wider fenders.

  • 18×9.5″ +35: This will be a versatile wheel that we recommend would be best used as the wheels on your drift setup. Many rulebooks in competitions often limit the rear tire size based on class, weight, horsepower, and many other factors. The 9.5-inch wide wheel will fill in this role perfectly. For those looking for an economical solution for a rotatable street set, look no further.

  • 18×11″ +54: We know that most of you who want this wheel want this for a couple of reasons. A perfectly flush, great-looking street set to grab everyone’s attention or take these around a track to chase those precious tenths. 275/35 R18s or 315/30 R18 tires will be your best bet here.

Do you offer some sort of wheel package or additional hardware we can use?

Yes to both of these questions. We will also have spacers for purchase soon, for those who want to really dial in their fitments. For those wanting any of our steer wheels, we know you will most likely end up running some form of a spacer anyway. We will offer a true one-stop shop for your ultimate Corvette wheel needs. Depending on the spacer’s size and the studs you have, additional modifications, such as extended studs, will be necessary to run this safely. See below for the spacers in development. 5×120.65 spacers in 5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, and 25mm. These sizes are subject to change and are not indicative of the final product.

Track-Proven Performance for Serious Drivers

Are these wheels designed to handle track days and competition use?

Track days push wheels to their limits. Our track fitments account for the unique demands of circuit driving – extreme heat cycles, heavy braking loads, and sustained high speeds.

Our flow-formed aluminum construction dissipates heat effectively while maintaining structural integrity throughout extended sessions.

Competition drivers appreciate our verified compatibility with popular modifications. Whether you’re running Lowering Springs for reduced center of gravity or need clearance for upgraded brakes, our wheels deliver.

We’ve even tested fitment with aggressive setups requiring Fenders Pulled for clearance – documenting what works and what doesn’t.

Will these wheels fit my Grand Sport with the wider body?

For the FF6 18×9 +15 widebody drift setup: Compatible with C6/C7 Grand Sport and Z06 calipers, including the previously noted C7 Z51 application. On C7 Grand Sport/Z06 bodywork, a spacer is needed to sit flush with the fender unless the angle kit adds track width. This is a fender-position note, not a blanket spacer requirement for brake clearance; verify the exact brake package.

Superior to Reproduction and Replica Options

Why choose flow-formed wheels over basic Z06 style reproductions?

The market overflows with Corvette Z06 Style Reproduction Wheels and Corvette ZR1 Style Reproduction Wheels trying to mimic OEM designs. While Factory Reproductions might look similar to original wheels, they often compromise on quality or fitment accuracy.

Our approach differs – we create original designs that enhance your Corvette’s appearance while exceeding reproduction wheel standards.

Custom Corvette Wheels shouldn’t mean choosing between style and quality.

Our wheels deliver both through advanced engineering and careful attention to detail. Unlike basic Corvette Rally Wheels or dated Corvette Knock-Off Wheels designs, our modern aesthetic complements your Corvette’s timeless lines.

How does flow-forming technology compare to traditional cast wheels?

Much like all variations of flow forming, the faces of our wheels are cast, and the barrel of the wheel is forged to produce a great-looking, high-performing, and cost-efficient wheel that is exclusively designed for the Corvettes in mind. Our Corvette wheels are designed with the unique body and suspension components of Corvettes and tested to maintain a high level of rigidity and strength for high-performance applications.

Installation and Fitment Support

Can you help me figure out the right fitment for my specific setup?

Of course, the nuances of finding the perfect-fitting wheels are difficult, and we are here to help. Message us through our Contact Us page and let us help you find the right setup for you. Everything changes when angle kits and other factors in setting up a car come into play, and it is difficult to lay out a general fitment list. Generally speaking, however, you can expect the following:18×8.5″ +35 will sit flush or tuck, depending on camber settings with coilovers and stock arms. Track-width-adding kits, including PBM knuckles, FDF Mega and the discussed Wisefab full-kit or narrow-kit-with-knuckles configurations, can put the wheel 10–15 mm, and in some setups 25–30 mm, outside narrowbody fenders. Wider bodywork is needed to cover the tire; an intentionally exposed drift setup leaves the tire outside the fender. Neither approach establishes universal clearance or road legality. 18×9″ +15 will also sit flush or poke slightly with stock suspension or with coilovers and stock arms. A track-width-adding angle kit can move the tire outside the fender. Decide whether the specific drift setup is intentionally exposed or needs wider bodywork; do not assume every angle kit changes track width or provides the same clearance. 18×9.5″ +35 is an easy bet to make. Stock suspension or coilovers, or lowering bolts. These wheels will sit flush or poke ever so slightly, depending on your tire selection. 18×11″ +54 will give you the most amount of tire to throw under the deep wheel wells of any of the narrowbody Corvettes. Throw in some aftermarket coilovers and suspension, and dial in the camber for a flush fender to tire fitment.

What tire sizes work with each wheel configuration?

Here is what we recommend:Tire options for FF6 18×8.5 +35: 225/40 or 235/40. Verify clearance at your ride height and through steering and suspension travel. Tire options for FF6 18×9 +15: 235/40, 255/35, 265/35, 255/40 and 265/40. A 235/40 is commonly used up front; 255- or 265-width tires are commonly used at the rear, depending on the build and intended use. Confirm clearance for your exact tire, suspension, bodywork and ride height. 18×9.5 +35: 255/35s will fit the most ideally on this wheel width. You could bump up to a 265/35 without issues. 18×11 +54: We find that either a 275/35 or 315/30 looks and drives the best with this wheel.

Value That Makes Sense

How much can I save compared to OEM or premium forged wheels?

OEM Corvette Wheels command premium prices without delivering proportional performance improvements. Our wheels cost significantly less while offering superior styling and equivalent quality.

When you Shop All Packages, the value becomes even more apparent – complete sets priced below what dealers charge for individual OEM wheels.

The 10% group-buy discount makes upgrading even more affordable. Coordinate with fellow Corvette enthusiasts through forums, clubs, or social media to unlock additional savings.

It’s one way we support the Corvette community while making quality wheels accessible to more drivers.

Are these wheels worth it as a long-term performance investment?

Quality wheels represent an investment in your Corvette’s performance and appearance. Our wheels maintain their value better than cheap alternatives while costing less than premium forged wheels options.

The durability of our manufacturing process means years of reliable service without the degradation common in budget wheels.

Consider the total ownership cost. Our wheels don’t require special maintenance beyond normal cleaning.

Our durable wheel finishes resist damage that would require refinishing on lesser wheels. When it’s time to upgrade or sell, quality wheels enhance your Corvette’s resale value.

Premium Wheel Finishes That Define Your Style

Does the gunmetal finish look good on all Corvette colors?

Our gun metal powder-coated finish creates an aggressive, technical appearance perfect for track-focused builds.

This gun metal coating resists brake dust while maintaining its purposeful look through hard driving. Gun metal delivers timeless elegance – this classic finish photographs beautifully and maintains its appearance with basic maintenance.

The gun metal option also offers sophisticated aggression for builds balancing street and track duty. Our powder-coating finish provides unique depth with a premium appearance, while hiding minor imperfections better than high-gloss alternatives.

Select builds benefit from this color style, adding warmth that complements certain paint colors.

How does the finish hold up to track abuse and daily driving?

Beyond color, the face finish quality determines long-term appearance. Our powder coating process ensures each wheel maintains its finish through extreme conditions.

Unlike cheaper replica wheels with thin coatings, our multi-stage process creates a durable barrier against road chemicals, brake dust, and environmental damage.
